Today, the market sells various food supplement products. One of the most famous supplements is made from a local berry from Brazil, popularly known as acai. Acai berry food supplements are getting more popular each day as they are frequently shown in the television and featured in various popular TV programs. You might have seen acai berries being referred by Oprah as a “superfood”. It surely is because food supplements like acai have been found to contain antioxidants and some essential nutrients which are good for our health.

As the acai are harvested from the rainforest of Brazil, they are immediately processed through freeze drying. Such a process is essential to preserve its nutritional contents. Acai food supplements come in different forms as they are made into capsules, puree, juice and powder. However, the acai juice is highly recommended when you plan onn taking in acai products because the body absorbs it faster and it goes into your system speedily. Acai berry juices are quite expensive and taking them in a regular basis would cost you about $30 to $80 a month- a price worth paying if you really care about your health and well-being.

So acai food supplements sold in the market has almost the same amount of nutritional content as those of the unprocessed acai berry.

Although there are blends and drinks with acai sold in coffee shops and gourmets, they contain a very small amount of acai as compared to food supplements in the form of capsules and purees.

You probably know that many acai berry supplements claim that they can be helpful to persons who want to loss weight. Although this varies from one person to the other, it is said to have an effect on the metabolism process of the body. And unlike many other dietary supplements which claim to have weight-losing capabilities, acai berry supplements are all-natural hence will not be harmful to your health.

By taking acai berry supplements, your body will get rid of harmful toxins because of antioxidants present in the fruit. Such antioxidants will also help you to have a good digestion. It will also provide you with enough energy as it contains high levels of essential fatty acids such as Omega 3, 6 and 9. It also contains other vitamins and minerals which will keep the body strong and healthy. Acai is found to be low in carbohydrates since it does not contain much sugar in it.

The best way to get the benefits from acai is to take it in its juice form; this is because acai juice can directly be absorbed by the body when digested.
